During the first week of the national lockdown the National Council for Persons with Disabilities (NCPD), with the assistance of RSA Markets and other sponsors, could deliver fruit and vegetables to those in need.
The council’s head offices are based on Andries Pretorius Road in Edenvale.
The deliveries, made by the council’s drivers, saw batches of fruit and vegetables donated to children’s homes in the Johannesburg and Pretoria areas, as well as in the Free State.
With the first batch of donations made the council will continue to identify those in need.
