The LITTLE EDEN Society Board has announced the resignation of its Chief Executive Officer, Mrs Xelda Rohrbeck due to medical and health-related reasons. The announcement came shortly after the Society held its 56th Annual General Meeting in July 2024.
“The decision to resign was immensely difficult and emotional to make as the mission of LITTLE EDEN is underpinned in the depths of my heart; however, I am compelled to step down for the benefit of my health and that of my family.” said Rohrbeck. “I do not doubt that those left behind will continue to hold up high the core Values of the Society and treasure the legacy left behind by our Founders. I take this opportunity to thank the LITTLE EDEN Board for their support and guidance over the years, and the LITTLE EDEN team in its entirety for helping me hold up the fort through the various challenges and special milestones of the Organisation during my reign. I further thank all the valuable supporters and donors of this precious Organisation for believing in the value of the work of the Society and those of people with profound disability and I encourage and plea for your continued support”.
Mrs Rohrbeck, who is married to a grandson of the Founders of the Society, has been the leader of the 57-year-old Organisation for the past six years. She took over the leadership reins in September 2018 after having joined the Society in 2008. She will remain in her position for the coming months as the Society’s Board undertakes the process of recruiting her successor.
