The NEEMA Silent Walk and Run celebrates its 10th anniversary

Johannesburg, South Africa – 09 September 2026 – African Bank is proud to renew its partnership with NEEMA Foundation as the- organisation celebrates the 10th anniversary of its annual NEEMA Silent Walk and Run.

The 10th Annual NEEMA Silent Walk and Run, set to take place at Rietvlei Zoo Farm on 13 September 2026, is a landmark event dedicated to raising awareness, promoting inclusivity, and championing the rights of the Deaf and hard-of-hearing community.

For a decade, the NEEMA Silent Walk has united the Deaf community, their families, advocates, and supporters in a powerful demonstration of solidarity and awareness. The annual event amplifies the experiences of the Deaf community while encouraging greater understanding, accessibility, and equal opportunities.

As the official partner, African Bank joins NEEMA to reaffirm a shared commitment to driving meaningful social change and creating positive outcomes for underserved communities.

The Silent Walk and Run will celebrate the achievements of the Deaf community while highlighting persistent barriers in education, employment, communication, and access to services. As September marks Deaf Awareness Month, African Bank will support these and other initiatives aimed at fostering inclusion and increasing public awareness of Deaf culture and the importance of accessibility.
