Meet the Tshwane Community Builder of 2018

2 March 2018

The inaugural Tshwane City Awards, presented by Ding Dong Media, were held on the 23rd of February at the State Theatre were Pretorians in music, acting, sports, education and other fields were celebrated for redefining excellency within the city.

Dr George Senosha was honoured as the Community Builder of the Year for his tireless efforts having contributed immensely towards improving the quality of life for the residents of Tshwane. The Executive Committee of the Awards selected Dr Senosha for his work in the communities in and around Tshwane. Dr Senosha, who is the owner and director of Pick n Pay Soshanguve, initiated a CSI project called Ditsala Children Shield and Projects which has driven a number of outreaches and fundraising efforts to benefit communities.

One heart-warming community development project that had an international repute they undertook was to collect money from their friends and families to build a house for Ontlametse Phalatse and her mom. Ontlametse was the only black teen in the world to have been diagnosed with progeria, a rare genetic disorder that causes children to age rapidly. She lived up to the age of 18, defying all odds.

Ditsala has undertaken a lot of philanthropic work in the area of disability where they donate assistive devices, building equipment and education funding.
