Casual Day is South Africa’s leading fundraising and awareness campaign for persons with disabilities.
According to Lebohang Tekela of Blind SA, it is a flagship project of the National Council of and for Persons with Disabilities (NCPD).

The theme for Casual Day 2022, which will be held on September 2, is “#IcelebrateSA with persons with disabilities”.

“As a local NGO, Blind SA is competing with NGOs from across the country to see who can raise the most funds. This is through the sale of casual day stickers and other promotional materials, such as T-shirts, caps, bucket hats and face masks, all of which are available at Blind SA house in Alrode,” said Tekela.

Blind SA invites all businesses and community members to take part in the fundraiser by purchasing a ticket or sticker which costs R20.

“That R20 can go a long way in supporting persons with disabilities. Promotional materials are available as well, however, an upfront payment will be required before the order,” he said.
