Miss. Mr. Mrs Deaf South Africa
Miss Deaf SA pageant (MDSA) is an empowerment platform for goal-driven young DEAF South Africans. Through a pageantry process, contestants are shaped through coaching to become leaders in business and life skills.
Contestants become the VOICE that advocates for the DEAF COMMUNITY to be included in development opportunities in an equal manner to inspire fellow DEAF South Africans across different challenges being faced.
As we countdown to the event in September, meet and get to know some of the contestants that you can vote:
Elisha Bence (46), Cape Town
Enjoys Gardening and crafting
Bucket list: To drive a monster Truck
Role model: Frida Kahlo and Jane Goodwell
Her life ambition is to be the stronger version of yourself and to be proud to help the youngster to lead the right path in life. Should she win the Ms Deaf South Africa title, she would like to focus on the platform for Mental Health, be the animal’s voice, Gender based violence and Bullies.

Christelle van Deventer (41), Pretoria
Enjoys Dancing and baking
She works for herself and is good with doing people’s hair
Bucket list: Would love to do a lot of makeovers for people and to own a hair salon
Her mom is her role model. If she wins the title, she would like to do charity work for people in need

Faeem Karodia (37), Johannesburg
Faeem has his own Baking business and has a diploma as a Professional Chef
Charity work: Will focus on feeding projects in Soweto, South of Johannesburg and Benoni.
His hobbies include: reading, shopping and exercising. He likes to be involved in Deaf communities and
events.
Faeem wants to be a role model to the Deaf Community in South Africa
If he wins Mr Deaf South Africa, he would like to be a motivational speaker to Deaf youth, have
workshops for Deaf people about Mental health and GBV.

Jared Drake (33), Cape Town
Jared’s hobbies include: video games, cooking and Painting
He dreams of traveling around the world to create Deaf Awareness
If Jared wins, he wants to keep on creating Deaf Awareness and telling people to support Deaf communities, and give the deaf more access allowing them the opportunity to make their dream come true
