Canon SA Disabled Golf Open slated for March

20 Aug 2020

England’s Mike Browne is the two-time defending champion.

The Canon SA Disabled Golf Open will take place from the 21st-25th of March at Mount Edgecombe Country Club.

This announcement will no doubt be welcomed by the association’s membership and any international players looking to earn valuable World Ranking points at South Africa’s premier disabled golf event.

SADGA Chief Executive Craig Moorgas said that after this year’s edition was postponed due to the ongoing Coronavirus pandemic, there was even greater excitement around the upcoming event.

“After the disappointment of having to postpone this year’s Canon SA Disabled Golf Open due to the virus, we were all eager to begin looking at potential dates for next year. Now that those have ben confirmed, our players and organisers can start looking forward to what may be the most highly-anticipated instalment in the event’s history,” said Moorgas.

Moorgas also extended a word of thanks to Mount Edgecombe for accomodating the event on their calendar.

“Covid certainly threw a spanner in the works and has affected everyone’s scheduling and availability due to the time lost over the past few months. My sincere thanks to Desiree Stone and the team at Mount Edgecombe Country Club for fitting us into what is a busy time of year for them.”

“The KZN Golf Union is one of the SADGA’s most ardent supporters and so we as an association are thrilled to be bringing our event to one of the finest golf destinations in the Kwa-Zulu Natal province,” concluded Moorgas

An announcement regarding the entry procedure will be made in due course.
