Cape Town, South Africa – OneRide, an online software platform for accessible transport for people with disabilities, exhibited its solution at the 2023 South African Innovation Summit (SAIS23) held in Cape Town from September 27-29.

The summit, supported by the Technology Innovation Agency (TIA), explores innovative technologies that can be scaled to address problems across Africa. OneRide was selected as one of the most promising African tech startups working to improve accessibility.

The OneRide software allows people with disabilities, groups, and organizations to request accessible vehicles and drivers for all transportation needs, including commuting to work or school, shopping, medical appointments, business events, and leisure travel. The platform matches riders to a fleet of accessible vehicles and manages bookings and dispatch.

OneRide founder Lubabalo Mbeki and software development partner Nkululeko Phakela presented to hundreds of attendees and interacted with participants. The exposure at SAIS23 provided valuable feedback as OneRide prepares to officially launch in early 2024 after testing is complete.

“We are honored to exhibit at SAIS23 and connect with key stakeholders,” said Mbeki. “The summit validates our vision for OneRide as a revolutionary mobility solution for the disability community. We look forward to the full launch as we work to make transportation more convenient and empower people with disabilities.”
